I am going to disect the current name resolution mechanism first to
understand the internals and data structures and then I will take it one
step at a time.  I think your suggestion is very good, however, and
there is no reason that shouldn't be easily implemented.

Since I have not mucked around much with compiling Ethereal can anyone
tell me if it is easier to build on Win32 or Unix?
